How adjusted basis works

A synthetic 100-share wheel: buy through assignment at $50 ($5,000). Put premium $200; three calls bring $150 + $130 + $110; two closes cost $80 + $60. Total option premium is $450, less $3.90 fees. Break-even basis before sale: ($5,000 − $450 + $3.90) / 100 = $45.54 per share (rounded).

Called away at $55: $5,500 − $5,000 + $450 − $3.90 = $946.10 realized P&L. Break-even basis, not tax basis.

Is this tax or investment advice?

No. This is a record-keeping tool. The break-even basis is not tax basis; confirm your broker’s records with a qualified professional.

Which brokers?

The five listed above, plus a generic mapper. No broker login is required.

What if I cancel?

Your data is retained. A cancelled membership stays Paid until the end of the period you paid for, then returns to Free; a refund or dispute returns it to Free right away. One open cycle remains available; others stay saved.

Can I move my data?

Export JSON, optionally encrypted with your passphrase, and import on another device. There is no sync and no passphrase recovery.
